[Minx has art she's going to submit separately, so I hope that's okay, this is for Rembrant and Morpheus <3 ]

Morpheus had been urged along by his own dreams, although if later asked about it, he might tell them that he’d been convinced by friends to go along, or something of that nature. No matter the cause, the fact remained that he was at a party, and he felt incredibly out of place. His small wings fluttered behind him as he tugged on one of the earrings lining his ear, although quickly dropped his hand back to his side when a few glances weren’t too kind on that action.

Instead, his nervous energy was finally redirected to the notebook he was holding, it was quite dear to him, even if his fingers plucked at the edge of the papers, it was marginally better than on the clothes he’d chosen to wear to try and fit in. He wrote down his dreams therein and tried to make sense of them. It helped him immensely and thus held it close, although one could question later on why he kept it with him in such a busy place. An accident was in a small corner, after all.

His gaze observed the crowd, looking as the woman circled around the men for their perfect partner. He quickly looked away when someone met his gaze though, feeling the skin underneath his fur flush bright red and he had to resist clearing his throat to release the tension he felt.

A bump against him and the worst case situation (for him at least) happened and he felt the notebook slip from his hands.

“Excuse me.” He heard, and the voice was like a balm to his hurt soul and he flinched away from it, more in shock than anything else. He shook his head quickly and reached towards the book, not wanting it to be lost among the crowd.

A hand came into his vision, reaching for the same book and a bolt of panic ran over his spine and he tried to reach quicker, if only that worked, “that’s quite okay.” He mumbled and then their hands brushed against each other.

The blush deepened and he jerked his hand back with a quick apology, but that left his notebook in the grasp of the other Opexo and Morpheus looked up and up into the other’s visage and swallowed, seeing intense eyes staring back at him. He’d seen the other before, but he hadn’t expected to meet here and he didn’t quite know what to say anymore. The words frozen in his throat and he swallowed a few times instead.

Rembrant, as he would later get to know the other as, raised an eyebrow in what appeared to be amusement and held out the notebook towards him. A kind gesture that he hadn’t expected.

Morpheus felt his heart gave a slight squeeze again, this time in something else than in panic, admiring that the other didn’t open the book or taunt him about it. He ignored it though, realizing that it was most likely that the other didn’t know about him or something, and didn’t know the significance, luckily for him perhaps.

“Ah,” he mumbled and was thankful that his blush wouldn’t be visible through the fur on his body, “thank you.” He held out his own hands and accepted the notebook back from the other Opexo. He took the time to run his gaze over the other, appreciating his figure and then snapped back to the other’s face and the amusement hadn’t faded from the other’s gaze. He wanted to apologize, knowing that it had been rude to stare and check the other out, even if the party here was for such a cause.

An hand was extended out again, “would you grand me this dance?” The other Opexo spoke, voice soft and soothing, although the tone sounded forced as if the other wasn’t used to such gentleness, “to make up for my clumsiness?”

Morpheus couldn’t do anything else but accept, freeing a hand to grab the other’s and allowing himself to be led towards the dancefloor.
