Legends say that Opexos are born from the Originarus, divine beings that created the planet and governed over different aspects. Keetara and Banri, who now sleep forever as the moons, were the first. Only two Originaru still walk among the masses, Yume and Unmei, taking the form of everyday wildlife and people to ensure the Originaru rest peacefully and to grant blessing to Opexos in need.
Initially, Eastern and Western Opexos were divided, with the winged and wingless taking their places on the respective continents; for years, battles were waged as they began to draw lines where each kingdom would rise. Intermingling would only take place on the neutral islands. It is unknown what happened precisely, most records have been lost over time, but alliances were formed suddenly, and the years of war ended with an uneasy peace. It is not unusual for Opexos to live on either content regardless of their subspecies, with only a few elders still holding grudges from past stories.
This is not to say that all alliances are strong, some kingdoms hold themselves in higher esteem, and others know they would be gone without the pacts. Some do not care for the laws of the land and welcome war to arrive.
Only time will tell what will come to pass.
